Livingston, a historic Northern Pacific Railroad community and the original gateway to Yellowstone National Park, is today a major center for summer recreation activities including fishing, floating, rafting, camping, and hiking. Also on July 2, 3, and 4 every year, Livingston has its own professional rodeo, the Livingston Roundup, complete with a downtown parade on the 2nd and fireworks after every evening's events. It's a lively weekend -- but outstanding art and pies in a pretty park between trains and the Northern Rockies really round it out.
